Ferns Grounds

An intimate gathering of your closest friends and family, your ceremony should be a unique and beautiful experience. Surrounded by the soothing sounds of birdlife and stunning nature in the background, Ferns offers you a choice of various outdoor garden or creek side locations, including our rustic undercover shed space “The Trough & Trolley” for your ideal ceremony.

If a dreamy marquee wedding is more your thing then our sprawling manicured lawns adjacent to the restaurant and wedding garden provides the perfect setting for large marquees and stretch tents.

Reception

Ferns Restaurant

With a stunning backdrop of tropical gardens and lush greenery, our beautiful indoor garden restaurant can accommodate up to 100 seated guests or 140 standing guests for a cocktail style wedding. Our restaurant is fully air-conditioning and is equipped with licensed bar, grand brick fireplace, audio system, projector and microphone and small stage.

Wedding receptions can either be catered for by your own preferred caterer or in-house by our professional team, the choice is yours.

In-house catering by Ferns includes use of the tables, chairs, table linen, crockery, cutlery, glassware, etc. 30 guests minimum.

Non-Exclusive Day Use

$1,500 – Includes arbour, preparation of the grounds, registry table, 30 outdoor chairs, PA system, PL insurance, 4 hours use of the grounds for guests and photos, Ferns on-site event coordinator*.

* Please note the role of our on-site event coordinator is to assist with and manage bump-in/bump-out, liaising with external suppliers as required (such as equipment hire, caterers, etc) and working closely with your Wedding Planner.

Exclusive Use Venue Hire

Exclusive use of the property ensures your day is as private and intimate as possible, which includes exclusive use of the entire resort with 2 nights’ accommodation, as well as use of the restaurant space on the wedding day.

This provides the opportunity for you and your guests to feel truly relaxed, knowing that all of Ferns beautiful 42 acres is solely yours to enjoy for your special day. When you hire the venue exclusively our on-site event coordinator works closely with you, your suppliers and Wedding Planner to ensure that everything on-site runs smoothly and according to plan on the day.

Please note – weddings held at Ferns Hideaway are required to engage the services of a Wedding Planner, which is a separate role to our on-site event coordinator.

  • Two nights’ accommodation in The Banksia Cabin (sleeps 6)
  • Two nights’ accommodation in The Ironbark Cabin (sleeps 6)
  • Two nights’ accommodation in The Pioneers Cabin (sleeps 6)
  • Two nights’ accommodation in The Bowenia Cottage (sleeps 6)
  • Use of our 25 onsite campsites (100 campers max)

Whilst the above are not included in your package, we can help suggest reputable local service providers who offer these and any other services you may require.

* All glassware, crockery, cutlery, table linen, etc will be included in your package if you choose to have our professional team cater for your wedding inside the restaurant.

Please note – where Ferns Hideaway caters for your wedding outside the restaurant (should you opt for a marquee or tent style reception on the lawn) an additional surcharge will apply to cover logistics and extra labour.

Ferns Hideaway’s beautiful garden restaurant is one of the Capricorn Coasts’ best kept secrets! Our Head Chef has cooked all over the world offers an extensive selection of delicious international dishes and menu options to satisfy all tastes, budgets, and dietary requirements. Our experienced team will work closely with you from start to finish to create a unique and successful wedding experience perfectly tailored to suit your wishes and individual style.

Our menus are designed around the best seasonal and locally sourced produce available. We believe in sustainable farming and use local organic and spray free produce whenever possible.
